Process Flow Chart
Here's a simplified visual flow chart of how the process works. We keep it simple and painless
Customizable Plan Options
These are the ways we can customize each plan to your project.
Plan Legend Symbols
We have a variety of pre-made plan legend symbols for way-finding, life-safety, fire-safety, general building info and more.
- Fire-safety symbols include exit signs, fire extinguishers, fire alarm pull stations, and more.
- Life-safety symbols include first-aid, eye-wash stations, and AED Heart Defibrillator equipment.
- Optional "You Are Here" individualized plans with distinct egress routes.
- We can create new symbols, either for existing legend items if you want a new design, or for new legend items specific to your needs.
Print Size
It's important that your plan is readable, so we work with you to select a format size for legibility
- 8.5"x11" or 11"x17" are standard sizes.
- Can perform a test print for legibility.
- Can create a different format size to meet your facility standards or your unique situation
Muster Stations
Large building or multi-building campus projects often require individualized muster stations for various groups of staff.
- We can create muster maps and locations for emergency situations.
- We can integrate as part of an existing campus muster plan, or assist with creating a new one.
- We can direct occupants to storm shelters or safe places for storm related emergencies.
Title Block Formatting
A "title block" provides additional information like the building name, floor level, and the formatting of the egress plan.
- We have an easy-to-read title block we can use standard on all projects.
- We can adjust our title block to meet your projects unique requirements.
- For owners with a campus or pre-existing format they want to use, we can place our floor plan in your tittle block for consistency across your buildings and campus.
Universal vs Individual
We can provide a single map of each floor that can be posted in any lcation, or we can provide "You-Are-Here" style maps that are for a specific location.
- A Universal Map is general plan that can be posted anywhere on that floor level.
- An Individual Map is a plan that is customized to a specific location, usually with a You Are Here symbol.
- For hotels, discounts are available for Individual maps for each hotel room.
- Individualized maps can have additional differences from the general map, including specific muster stations, egress paths, and emergency instructions.
Colored Plans Options
An exit plan is most effective if it is easily readable and understandable by building occupants, especially for those who may have never been in the building before.
- We can work with you to identify what areas of the plan might need to be colorized to enhance readibility.
- We recommend coloring the buildings hallways and stairwells to instantly identify egress pathways.
- In some cases, coloring other rooms for specific uses like storm shelters or muster areas is also recommended.
- We can color any room you want, in some cases, coloring significant areas of the plan can increase the cost to account for the extra time needed to prepare the plans.
